Susan was born in Baltimore, MD and raised in Lincoln, NE and Denver, CO.
She married Roger on January 1st, 1961. They have two sons, Rog and Jeff and one grandson, Rog III.
Susan first visited Grand Lake in 1947. Her uncle had the dance band at the Pine Cone Theatre (current site of Pancho and Lefty’s) from 1949 through the early 1960's.
She and Roger have also lived in Denver and Ft. Collins, CO, Hot Springs, SD, Grand Island, NE, San Jose, CA, San Antonio, TX and Long Valley, NJ. They currently spend summers in Grand Lake and winters in Colleyville, TX.
Susan is a University of Nebraska Cornhusker. She and Roger have had season tickets for football since 1967!
In 1981, the Brandts began a pharmaceutical company which they sold in 1987. Prior to that, Susan was a stay at home mom. She implemented the "Parent Volunteers in the Schools" program for Northeast Independent School District in San Antonio, TX.
Susan is a member of the Colleyville, Texas Garden Club, is a Big Sister in Tarrant County, Texas, has brought increased community involvement in Fort Worth for the assisted living and nursing facilities and was the 1997 United Way Volunteer of the Year in Fort Worth.
In her spare time, she and Roger fly fish in the same spots her dad took her to 55 years ago.
The Brandts built their home in Grand Lake in 1989 and have been seeing shows ever since. They became friends with Judith and Skelly Warren, former artistic and managing directors of the Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre. In 2003, Judith suggested that Susan join the Board of Directors. She currently serves as the Vice President.
Susan cites Beauty and the Beast as well as Fiddler on the Roof as two of her favorite RMRT shows. Her ultimate favorite, however, is Forever Plaid.
