The RMRT 2012 Season

Anything Goes

Music and Lyrics by Cole Porter, Book by Guy Bolton and P.G. Wodehouse

All hands on deck! The Rocky Mountain Rep tap dances its way into the 2012 Season with this spectacular Broadway hit. Shipboard romances and mistaken identities abound in this 1934 musical comedy from the golden age of Broadway. Appealing to the hopeless romantics in all of us, Anything Goes follows the lovers, liars and clowns aboard a transatlantic cruise from New York to London, and features a candy box of sparkling Cole Porter favorties, like "I Get a Kick Out of You," "It's De-Lovely," and of course, "Anything Goes." High-energy production numbers and yearning, elegant ballads make this classic show a guaranteed RMRT knockout.

Jekyll & Hyde

Book and Lyrics by Leslie Bricusse, Music by Frank Wildhorn

Based on Robert Louis Stevenson's timeless novel, this musical follows the chilling story of a doctor who, in the midst of finding a cure for his father's mental illness, unwittingly unleashes his own inner dark side. As Dr. Jekyll continues his dangerous experiment with human nature, the struggle with his alter ego blurs the lines of his own sanity. Show-stopping pop anthems highlight this delightfully wicked battle of good vs. evil that has thrilled audiences for the last 15 years. After its initial Broadway run, Jekyll & Hyde has developed a fiercely loyal fanbase that follows the production across the globe, and boasts Broadway hits like "This is the Moment" and "Someone Like You." With RMRT's newly installed, state-of-the-art light and sound system, Jekyll & Hyde will prove to be quite the adrenaline rush.

The Drowsy Chaperone

Music and Lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison, Book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar

One of the most charming and effervescent productions in decades, this Tony Award-winning hit is a free-spirited parody of 1920's musicals. When a devoted theatre fan plays the record of his favorite musical, his apartment fades away as the production comes to life in his living room. This fast-flying farce includes a pampered Broadway starlet who wants to give up show business to get married, her producer who sets out to sabotage the nuptials, her chaperone, the debonair groom, a Latin lover, and a pair of gangsters who double as pastry chefs - and that's just the first act! This tongue-in-cheek romp is sure to entertain audiences of all ages. With a gorgeous array of costumes, rousing dance numbers and larger-than-life show tunes, The Drowsy Chaperone is a glorious, heartfelt homage to the joy of musicals.

The Marvelous Wonderettes

Written and Created by Roger Bean

A delightful, song-filled blast from the past! The Marvelous Wonderettes takes you to the 1958 Springfield High School prom, where we meet the Wonderettes - Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy and Suzy - four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts, and the voices to match. Showcasing some of the most quintessential music from the 1950's and 1960's, the Wonderettes take you on an enchanting trip down memory lane. As the girls share their lives and loves, they perform beautifully arranged and soulful renditions of such classics as "Lollipop," "Dream Lover," "Stupid Cupid," "Lipstick on Your Collar," "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me," "It's My Party," and "It's in His Kiss (The Shoop Shoop Song)." The perfect end to the 2012 Season, this bubbly, irresistable musical is sure to sing its way into your heart.
